The Brooklyn Flea, One Hanson Is The Star!

Ah, the Brooklyn Flea.  We hopped on the 6 and arrived at 10:45am.

Lots of fun and funky vintage wares.  More vintage clothing than I expected, less furniture (I was a little disappointed), but great artisans with contemporary pieces.

The real star of the Brooklyn Flea is the winter location at One Hanson.  A former bank, the architectural details were absolutely exquisite!  This is a window on the Mezzanine with Art Deco iron details in shadow from outside.  Took my breath away!

The vault features a food court filled with amazing artisanal vendors.  I had the pork sandwich from Porchetta NYC…divine! http://www.porchettanyc.com/

Prices were good…about 1/2 of standard retail.  I did manage to purchase a fun cameo pendant made from old vinyl records from Brooklyn’s Wrecords By Monkey http://www.wrecordsbymonkey.com/

Worth a look for the architectural details of One Hanson alone.  But hurry, the flea moves to its outside location April 3rd.  This Sunday is your last chance to catch a glimpse of the flea at One Hanson until next year…
