Sunday’s cooking club was hosted by the lovely Katie. Since we’ve been at this for over 7 years, it can be tough to come up with themes. A friend of mine in a similar club recommended trying out recipe books or recipes by a particular chef. I ran this idea past Katie and she came up with “The Barefoot Contessa” as our July Cooking Club theme.
We began with Shannon’s scrumptious Fettunta with Prosciutto, recipe courtesy of the Food Network. Wonderful crunchy texture, salty, and cheesy deliciousness. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/fettunta-with-prosciutto-recipe/index.html
Followed by Stephanie’s beautiful Pear Salad dish with blue cheese also courtesy the Food Network: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/roasted-pears-with-blue-cheese-recipe/index.html
The main event featured Katie’s Mustard Roasted Fish http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/mustard-roasted-fish-recipe/index.html, Nicole’s Spring Green Risotto http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/spring-green-risotto-recipe/index.html, and my Parmesan Roasted Broccoli http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/parmesan-roasted-broccoli-recipe/index.html all from the food network.
Whoa boy…Selena’s Chocolate Cake was AMAZING. Simply the BEST homemade chocolate cake that I have ever eaten. The coffee in this cake makes it special. This recipe is a keeper for sure. We LOVED this month’s cooking club, recipe’s courtesy of Ina Garten, AKA “Barefoot Contessa”. Wonderful theme. What I appreciated about Ina’s recipes is that they all seem very straight forward and clean, yet delicious. Another great cooking club!
