I checked out the Richard Avedon opening party at the SFMOMA last night. It was a really interesting and diverse crowd. There was a crazy long line to see the exhibit. We waited on the stairs for over 30 minutes to check it out!
Some really amazing portraits. I really loved some of the shots he did of the “everyman” of the American Southwest. Those were equisite.
Of course the fashion shots were AMAZING. The shot above, “Elise Daniels With Street Performers, Suit by Balenciaga, La Marais, Paris, August 1948,” gelatin silver print. Of course the fashion and that pose from the model…fierce. My friends and family all know that I have a thing for circus art and performers so this portrait really brings all of my loves together…
Really looking forward to going back to get a slower, closer look!
