I love NYC! My first visit was December of 1996. I’ll never forget the excitement, sounds, and food! One of the restaurants that I dined at on that very first trip was Gramercy Tavern.
When I worked for JPMorgan as a manager for Equities Events, I had the great pleasure of revisiting NYC at least once a year (usually a few times per year). Since pursuing my design career the NY trips have waned. Lucky for me my dear friend, Tracy, invited me to visit this past weekend and she obliged me in all of my NYC fall requests.
Where to eat is usually my first question when planning a trip and I have amazing memories of that first visit to NYC and Gramercy Tavern back in 1996. When I asked Tracy if she minded dining there, I was delighted when she told me this is one of her favorites so of course we could go! Tracy prefers dining at the bar with the Tavern menu and it was delightful.
The setting is truly a feast for the senses. The floral displays are absolutely gorgeous and the food – incredible. I had the octopus and carrot salad and Sea Bass with spaghetti squash, walnuts, and a sherry sauce. YUM!
It was a special meal and I’ll remember it for another 13 years, I’m sure!
